COMMUNITY HIV/AIDS CONTROL MODULE
The Community HIV/AIDS Control Module equips participants with up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge and actionable skills to effectively contribute to Cameroon’s national goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 (in line with the Cameroon National Strategic Plan for HIV/AIDS 2021-2026 and the global 95-95-95 targets). Delivered in an interactive, adult-learning format that combines short courses (typically 5–10 days) or as modular sessions, the training combines classroom teaching, role-plays, group work, community mapping exercises, and supervised field practice to ensure skills are immediately applicable in rural and urban settings across Cameroon’s ten regions.

Role of Community Health Workers in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS

This section clearly outlines the specific responsibilities and unique power of community health workers in stopping HIV. It shows how CHWs serve as the vital link between villages and health facilities through mobilising for testing, distributing condoms, supporting treatment adherence, tracing defaulters, educating families, and fighting stigma door-to-door. Through practical examples and role-plays, participants understand their daily duties, reporting requirements, and how their trusted position in the community makes them essential to reaching the last mile and achieving HIV control in Cameroon.
